Alex Brown is the Chief Executive Officer of Gloucester Rugby, a role he assumed permanently in September 2023 after serving as interim CEO. A former lock, Brown made 235 appearances for Gloucester and earned three caps for England during his playing career before retiring in 2013.

After hanging up his boots, Brown transitioned into the club’s off-field leadership, initially taking on operational roles including Rugby Operations Manager and later Commercial Director. He was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2020, where he oversaw both rugby-related functions and broader organisational matters. 

As CEO, Brown is responsible for driving Gloucester’s strategic vision on and off the pitch, building organisational cohesion, and enhancing the club’s performance and commercial success. Widely respected within the sport, he combines deep playing experience with strong leadership and a long-standing commitment to the club’s community and values
