About Breast Cancer Now

  • Breast Cancer Now and Premiership Women’s Rugby have teamed up to make checking your breasts regularly the habit of a lifetime. For round 17 of the tournament, we’re having our first ever Big Pink Weekend – and you’re invited! It’s all in support of Breast Cancer Now’s life-saving science and life-changing support.
  • They’re funding some of the world’s best science now, so no one dies of breast cancer in the future. They’re providing life-changing support now, so no one faces breast cancer alone. And they’re campaigning now – for better awareness, quicker, earlier diagnosis and access to treatments – so everyone with breast cancer can live and live well.
  • They’ve been making change happen for over 50 years, and they’re not stopping now. Because they have a bold vision. That by 2050, everyone with breast cancer will live and live well.
  • Here’s what their CEO Claire Rowney had to say about our Big Pink Weekend: “We are incredibly grateful to PWR for partnering with us to launch the first-ever Big Pink Weekend, a landmark moment that will see the entire league come together to raise vital funds and awareness for breast cancer.
  • “This weekend is a powerful demonstration of our partnership with PWR, and we want to thank the league, all the clubs involved, the players and the fans who are uniting behind our bold vision - that by 2050 everyone diagnosed with breast cancer will live and live well.
  • “The Big Pink Weekend will show the incredible power of the rugby community, raising vital funds for life-saving research and life-changing support.”
  • That’s why we’ve teamed up this season, because we want to remind everyone that every part of your body changes – and your breasts are no different. We want all our fans to know what’s normal for their breasts – knowing that is key to spotting any new or unusual changes. Being breast aware is one of the best ways that you can help us tackle breast cancer.
  • And you can help us tackle breast cancer too by getting involved in one of our brilliant fundraisers this season. Not sure how to join in? Don’t worry – keep scrolling and to find out everything you need to know to join in.
