Saracens 43-33 Harlequins: A Thrilling Battle Sees Saracens Lift the PWR Cup

Saracens produced a commanding performance in a high-intensity PWR Cup Final, defeating Harlequins 43-33 to keep the trophy in North London.

The match burst into life from the outset, with both sides crossing the line within the opening 10 minutes.

Liz Crake opened the scoring for Saracens and added a second try in the 26th minute. Hooker Bryony Field also powered over in the first half, helping Saracens to establish early control.

After the break, Tori Sellors, Poppy Cleall and Charlotte Wright-Haley made decisive contributions, each crossing the try line as Saracens stretched their lead.

Fly-half Amelia MacDougall was instrumental throughout, collecting ten points from five conversions, and a crucial penalty goal in the 83rd minute, cementing their win.

Harlequins, however, did not go down without a fight. Lauren Torley bagged herself a brace of tries, and efforts from Katie Shillaker, Beth Wilcock and Ella Cromack kept them in contention throughout.

Cromack was particularly influential, adding four conversions to her try and tallying her total points up to thirteen.

Despite Quins’ pace and persistent attacking threats, Saracens remained composed in the closing stages, introducing key members from their bench to maintain intensity in the closing stages of the match.

In the end, it was Saracens who came out victorious. Their ruthless attack and clinical finishing proved the difference between two of the best sides in women’s rugby.
