Premiership Women’s Rugby Launches “Home of Heroes” Campaign Ahead of October 24 Season Kick-Off

Fresh from the euphoria of England’s triumph at the Women’s Rugby World Cup, Premiership Women’s Rugby (PWR) today unveiled its new campaign, “Home of Heroes”, celebrating the return of the world’s best domestic women’s rugby competition on October 24.

With the eyes of the rugby world still on the Red Roses’ history-making performance, PWR is seizing the moment to spotlight the extraordinary talent, dedication, and inspiration embodied by its players week in, week out. “Home of Heroes” positions PWR clubs and their matchdays as the beating heart of elite women’s rugby, where fans can witness the very best athletes shaping the future of the sport.

130 players who represented their countries at the biggest Women’s Rugby World Cup in history will be back for the most anticipated PWR season yet, including Red Roses stars like Zoe Aldcroft, Ellie Kildunne, Maud Muir and more. ‘Home of Heroes’ will put the heroic efforts of all these incredible athletes front and centre, whilst telling the world… the World Cup is where legends are made, and the PWR is the home of heroes.

PWR has worked with Curveball Digital as the lead agency on the campaign, who have produced a range of content, including a hero video and bespoke ‘superhero’ illustrations. PWR has also worked with women’s rugby personalities Nick Heath and Ruckstar Lizzie on bespoke content series’, aiming to help any new PWR fans select their new favourite Club ahead of the 2025/26 season.

PWR Executive Chair Genevieve Shore said: “Women’s rugby is on an incredible high right now, fuelled by yes the Red Roses’ victory but also just the overall success of this historic World Cup. The whole world has seen just how remarkable all these athletes are, and I’m so proud that 130 of the world’s best players play in the PWR.

“Each and every one of them, through their heroics on the game’s biggest stage, has made this upcoming PWR season the most unmissable to date, and I want to thank Curveball for bringing to life that heroism in a campaign that manages to capture the excitement of what’s to come once we get underway on October 24.

“The PWR is the best women’s domestic league in the world, and we want to welcome all these new rugby fans with open arms. So, pick your new favourite club, follow your new favourite players and join us at the PWR… the home of heroes.

Curveball Digital Co-Founder Kev Blundell said: “The goal of The Home of Heroes was to carry momentum of the Red Roses’ World Cup success right through to the start of the season, using social media to celebrate the stars and drive hype towards the first match.

“At the heart of the campaign are the players themselves, the heroes who inspired a nation this summer. We wanted to showcase them as the elite-level athletes they are, but also play on personal characteristics that fans can attach themselves to.

“Women’s rugby has enormous potential for growth in the UK, and we believe this campaign, building on the success of the summer, helps take the game to the next level.”
