Canterbury renews commercial partnership with Premiership Women’s Rugby

Canterbury of New Zealand is proud to announce that they have renewed their partnership with Premiership Women’s Rugby (PWR), reinforcing their long-term commitment to supporting women’s rugby in England. After a successful first year, the brand will once again commit to supplying every player across the league with boots and additionally a piece of kit.

More than 450 players across all nine PWR clubs will be offered Canterbury boots this season, ensuring they are equipped with high-performance footwear tailored to their position. Canterbury’s boots are designed for every role on the pitch, the Speed boot for backs, Phoenix for hybrid players, and Stampede for forwards. Each player will receive the right fit for their style of play, giving them the confidence in their kit so they can focus fully on performing at their best in England’s top league.

Canterbury continues to set a benchmark for investment in the women’s game, with the goal of growing visibility and equality in women’s sport.

On the renewed initiative, Ellie Kildunne, Canterbury Ambassador commented:

“I remember Canterbury launching this initiative last season and it felt like an important moment for the sport. Women’s rugby is growing faster than ever, the renewal of the partnership is absolutely the right thing at the right time for the game. The fact that Canterbury is partnering with the PWR again demonstrates their genuine commitment to support our growth.  It is exactly the kind of support we need to keep taking the game to the next level!”

Genevieve Shore, Executive Chair at PWR, added:

“I’m delighted to be renewing our partnership with Canterbury. To have a brand of their calibre so excited about extending their partnership with the PWR is a sign of how our league continues to go from strength to strength. To have Canterbury supporting our athletes in this way will ensure they’re equipped for the biggest and best PWR season to date.”

Simon Rowe, Senior Vice President of Canterbury & Sports Marketing at Pentland Brands, said:

“We’re incredibly proud of what this partnership achieved last season. The players’ response and the stories we’ve heard underline the value of the programme, and it’s great to be able to continue it.

Women’s rugby has fantastic momentum after the Red Roses’ summer success, and Canterbury is committed to playing its part in that growth. Supporting the players and giving them the best possible platform has always been central to our role in the game, and it’s something we’re determined to keep building on.”
