Red Roses Props Unite in the Commentary Box

Round 13 of the 2025-26 Premiership Women’s Rugby is upon us, and two familiar faces will be joining the commentary line-up. Former Red Rose, Rocky Clark, and current Red Roses prop, Hannah Botterman, will team up to cover Bristol Bears vs Leicester Tigers at Shaftesbury Park tomorrow afternoon (Saturday March 7).

Set for her first lead commentary role, Clark is relishing in the chance to take the main microphone after building experience in the media space over recent seasons.

“Rugby has always been a huge part of my life, so stepping into the lead commentary seat feels really exciting. Over the last few seasons, I’ve been developing my media career and working on my craft behind the mic.

“Now it feels like the right moment to take the driving seat in the comms box and bring some energy, insight and personality to the broadcast.”

Clark believes the current state of Premiership Women’s Rugby makes it the perfect competition to cover from the commentary box.

“The PWR is in such a great place right now. The standard of rugby just keeps climbing and every round you’re seeing world-class moments and new stars stepping up. It’s such an exciting competition to be part of and from a commentary point of view it’s a dream because the stories, the rivalries and the quality of the rugby give you so much to work with.”

She’ll be joined on co-commentary by fellow prop Hannah Botterman, creating a front-row partnership in the broadcast booth.

“I’m really excited to be alongside fellow front rower Hannah Botterman. I’ve played with her at club and country, so I’ve seen first-hand what she brings to a team. She’s got a brilliant rugby brain and a great personality, so her insight will be class in the comms box.

“And of course we’re both props, so there’s a good chance the front row union will be well represented on commentary, hopefully with slightly less scrummaging and slightly more analysis.”
