England U20 confirm side to face France

England U20 Women’s head coach LJ Lewis has named her squad to face France on Matchday 3 of the Six Nations Summer Series.  The tournament’s closing fixture kicks-off at 18:00 BST at the CCB Centre for Sporting Excellence in Caerphilly this Thursday. All Summer Series fixtures will be streamed live on the Six Nations U20 YouTube channel.  Lucy Calladine of Loughborough Lightning captains the side after a comeback 36-20 victory over Italy last Friday. She is joined in the pack with additions in clubmate Grace Clifford and Annabel Meta (Trailfinders Women).  Saracens’ Amelia MacDougall is added in at scrum-half to partner Harlequins out-half Ella Cromack, with Lia Green (Loughborough Lightning) reintegrated into the 15 shirt. Gloucester-Hartpury's Millie Hyett is named amongst the replacements.   In line with Six Nations regulations, management have also included U23 players Grace Clifford (Loughborough Lightning), Chloe Flanagan (Saracens), Lia Green (Loughborough Lightning) and Eva Wood (Sale Sharks) to maximise playing opportunities for a wider player pool within the pathway.

LJ Lewis: “This week, preparations have built our bond as a player and staff group as we near the final stages of reaching our goals this month.    “Our players have approached the first two games with the intensity required to achieve two impressive results, and we expect that mindset to continue.     “Every matchup with France will demand a high level of performance and the squad is fully focused on the job in front of them. They are full of confidence and belief as a whole squad.’  England U20 Women’s squad to face France (includes current club, community club and U20 caps)  15 Lia Green (Loughborough Lightning, Winscombe RFC, 8 caps)  14 Sophie Hopkins (Sale Sharks, Fullerians RFC, 6 caps)   13 Sarah Parry (Harlequins, Newtown Rugby Club, 1 cap)  12 Carmela Morrall (Loughborough Lightning, Dubai Hurricanes, 6 caps)  11 Millie David (Bristol Bears, Reading RFC, 7 caps)  10 Ella Cromack (Harlequins, Reading RFC, 6 caps)  9 Amelia MacDougall (Saracens, Old Albanian RFC, 6 caps)  1 Chloe Flanagan (Saracens, Ampthill RUFC, 9 caps)  2 Lucy Calladine (c) (Loughborough Lightning, Burton Rugby Football Club, 8 caps)  3 Grace Clifford (Loughborough Lightning, Horsham Rugby Club, 4 caps)  4 Jasmine Adonri (Trailfinders Women, Dartford Valley Rugby Club, 2 cap)  5 Keevy Fitzpatrick (Loughborough Lightning, Sudbury RFC, 1 cap)  6 Lucie Sams (Sale Sharks, Kingsbridge RFC, 1 cap)  7 Sophie McQueen (Gloucester-Hartpury, Chippenham RFC, 2 caps)  8 Annabel Meta (Trailfinders Women, Wimbledon RFC, 4 caps)  Replacements  16 Lucy Simpson (Gloucester-Hartpury, Rams RFC, 2 caps)   17 Amelia Williams (Loughborough Lightning, Medway RFC, 9 caps)   18 Zara Green (Harlequins, Lewes RFC, 1 cap)  19 Tyla Shirley (Harlequins, Hove RFC, 7 caps)   20 Haineala Lutui (Loughborough Lightning, Worcester RFC, 1 cap)   21 Daisy Aspinall (Gloucester-Hartpury, Stafford RFC, 1 cap)  22 Millie Hyett (Gloucester-Hartpury, Evesham RFC, 7 caps)  23 Eva Wood (Sale Sharks, Old Halesonians RFC, 1 cap)
