How many PWR players are at the Women's Rugby World Cup 2025?

As England host the biggest Women’s Rugby World Cup ever staged this summer, Premiership Women’s Rugby will be at its heart, with the tournament featuring over 100 players from the league.
All nine PWR teams are represented at the World Cup across nine of the 16 nations who are set to compete from the 22 August to 27 September, with a total of 129 players from the league representing their country on the world stage.
All of the 32-player Red Roses squad played their domestic rugby in the PWR last season, though Abby Dow is currently unattached having represented Trailfinders Women most recently.
They constitute the union with the most PWR players, closely followed by home nations Scotland and Wales, who each have 25 players currently plying their trade in the PWR.
In rugby, relations across the Atlantic remain strong, with Canada selecting 16 players from the PWR and the USA selecting 14.
Ireland, Spain, Italy and South Africa all also feature PWR representation in their ranks, while Amy Rule will become the first New Zealand international to play in the league when she begins her time with Exeter Chiefs after the World Cup.

Across the league, Gloucester-Hartpury are best represented with 22 of the reigning champions’ players selected to the World Cup.
And it is their PWR Final opponents Saracens who boast the second-highest number of players featuring at the World Cup with 18.
Sale Sharks and Trailfinders are also well-represented with 15 players apiece while Exeter Chiefs, Harlequins, Bristol Bears and Loughborough Lightning follow close behind with 14 players each heading to the World Cup.
Four Leicester Tigers are competing on the world stage with players in Wales, USA and South Africa's squads.
The biggest meeting of PWR talent in the pool stage will come when Scotland and Wales face off in Manchester on 23 August, where 50 players hailing from the league will aim to be part of the matchday squads and come up against familiar foe.
