Round 13 review: Gloucester stay unbeaten while Campbell rules capital

Round 13 of the PWR saw Gloucester Hartpury stretch their winning run to 11 matches while Saracens earned the bragging rights in the capital.

Gloucester Hartpury 38-20 Exeter Chiefs

Maud Muir scored twice as Gloucester Hartpury overcame Exeter Chiefs under Friday night lights at Kingsholm.

Georgia Brock powered over for an early try but Chiefs hit back through Sabrina Poulin.

Enter Muir, who crossed for her double before Kelsey Jones added another to secure the bonus point before half time, which arrived with the hosts 26-10 up.

Mia Venner and Beth Lewis added further scores after the break to stretch the advantage but a spirited Chiefs side did not leave empty handed, late tries from Eilidh Sinclair and Claudia Moloney-MacDonald securing a try bonus point.

Harlequins 26-43 Saracens

May Campbell's hat-trick helped Saracens to an impressive derby day win over Harlequins at Twickenham Stoop.

The two sides traded early blows, Campbell's opener and one for Sophie Bridger cancelled out by Jade Konkel and Aoife Wafer for the hosts.

Sarries began to pull away before the break, Olivia Apps' try followed by a Jess Breach stunner, the winger crossing against her old club following a move which began inside the visitors' dead ball line.

Campbell crossed twice more after the break to complete her treble and put the result beyond doubt, though Lagi Tuima and Ella Cromack ensured Quins earned a bonus point. Zoe Harrison's late penalty rounded off the scoring to put the seal on a fine win for the leaders, who leapfrogged Gloucester Hartpury at the summit.
