Sharks Women to sign Tigers lock Charlotte Fray

Sale Sharks Women have agreed a deal to sign England and Leicester lock Charlotte Fray from the start of the 2025-26 PWR season.
Charlotte, who received her first international call-up for the recent Guinness Women’s Six Nations, has signed a two-year deal with Tom Hudson’s side.
Although injury prevented her from making her England debut, a first call-up capped off a big season for the 24-year-old who played 16 times for Tigers in the 24/25 campaign.
Featuring at both lock and in the back-row, she captained the team on a number of occasions and consistently topped the league’s dominant tackle charts.
Charlotte said: “The environment that Katy (Daley-Mclean) and Michelle (Orange) have created looks incredible and I can’t wait to be a part of it.
“I know the last couple of seasons haven’t gone as well as everyone would have wanted but the potential at Sale is massive. The girls want to fight for the team and the club and with some of the new players coming in, I think we can really compete and be a top four club.
“I love all the gritty side of the game, the physicality and the collisions, and that’s what Sale Sharks is all about.
“Plus I loved working with Tom at Leicester. I love the environment he created and the clarity he brought and I can’t wait to work with him again.”
Tom said: “There is no denying that over the last two seasons Charlotte has become one of the PWR’s ‘ones to watch’.
“The exciting thing about Charlotte is her willingness and hunger to be involved in the game. Her match involvements are high in number and in impact as well, and that has the knock-on effect of rallying her teammates around her.
“I was so excited to see Charlotte in Red Roses camp for the Six Nations and I can’t wait to re connect with her and work on the feedback to take her to the next level.”
