PWR Round 4: Saracens enjoy 13-try triumph as Gloucester and Trailfinders also win

Saracens ran in an impressive 13 tries on their way to beating Leicester Tigers in round four of Premiership Women's Rugby.
Rachel Lund’s hattrick helped defending champions Gloucester Hartpury extend their unbeaten start to the season to four matches after an excellent performance was too much for Sale Sharks.
Trailfinders Women made it a clean sweep of home victories as they made it two wins from two after overcoming Bristol Bears.
Sunday's only fixture sees Harlequins travel to take on Exeter Chiefs.
Saracens overpower Tigers
Saracens made it three wins from their last three PWR matches as they overpowered Leicester Tigers 79-5 at StoneX Stadium.
The north Londoners made an excellent start under the grey skies as Donna Rose was able to dive over after just four minutes following an impressive driving maul.
Amelia MacDougall extended the home side’s advantage six minutes later when the fly half – who later converted her own try – was played in courtesy of some superb handling from Emma Hardy and Sydney Gregson.
The home side continued on in dominant fashion as Bryony Field and Rose both profited from Saracens’ destructive mauling ability before the half was out – scores that sandwiched former Tiger Julia Omokhuale’s close-range effort – to give their side a 29-0 lead at the interval.

The team in black and red ensured the second half would follow the same pattern as the first as a devastating three-converted-try blitz at the start of the second 40 minutes saw Saracens put 50 on the board.
Tori Sellors opportunistically crossed over from close range before Liz Crake and Poppy Cleall added to the ever-mounting points tally.

Lund’s treble keeps Gloucester Hartpury's perfect record
Gloucester Hartpury produced a trademark display to remain the only unbeaten team after running out 40-24 winners over Sale Sharks.
The visitors made a fast start at Kingsholm with Erica Jarrell-Searcy reaching over the try line following on from a driving maul after only three minutes.
Holly Aitchison added the extras, only for the three-time defending champions hit back with two tries in 10 minutes.
Rachel Lund was first to cross over for the Circus down the right wing before Alex Matthews put the hosts ahead; both tries were duly converted by Lleucu George.
Sisilia Tuipulotu found a gap in Sale’s defence to dot down just before the half hour mark – George again clinical with the conversion – but Nikita Prothero gave the outfit from the northwest some hope heading into half time after she flew over in the corner following some great work from the pack.

Neve Jones added a seventh try – converted by replacement kicker Lizzie Goulden - for the Cherry & Whites on the hour mark, making the score 40-12, following great work from a Gloucester maul.

Trailfinders record back-to-back wins
Trailfinders Women halted a spirited first-half Bristol Bears fightback to record their second victory of the season with a 45-19 success at Trailfinders Sports Club.
Trailfinders landed the first blow with eight minutes on the clock as Alana Borland found her way over the try line.
One try on the board became two just three minutes later as Borland’s compatriot Georgia Ponsonby powered over to extend the hosts' advantage.
Meg Jones’ conversion made the score 12-0 but two converted tries in nine minutes for Bristol flipped the game on its head.
Simi Pam was first to crash over for the away side before Sarah Bern followed suit, and Keira Bevan was faultless off the tee on both occasions.

But momentum then swung back the way of Trailfinders as Grace White crossed over in the corner after good work from Julia Schell and Jones in the build-up.
Borland’s second try – scored after bursting through the Bristol defence – increased Trailfinders’ cushion, and secured a bonus point, with the score reading 24-14 at the break.
The combination of a line out and a maul provided Ponsonby with the opportunity to bag her second try 11 minutes into the second 40 minutes, but Evie Gallagher hit back to keep Bristol within two scores, seven minutes later.
Trailfinders quashed any hopes of a Bristol comeback through two further converted tries.
White was the recipient of a delightful cross-field kick from Jones before Emma Taylor crossed the whitewash to add the icing on the cake and complete the scoring.

Tries: Borland (2), Ponsonby (2), White (2), Taylor
Conversions: Jones (5)
Bristol Bears: 19
