Of the three signings, one will be a familiar face to the Saracens faithful as Olympic Silver medallist Alysha Corrigan has chosen to extend her stay in North London, having re-joined the Club ahead of the 2024/25 season.
Joining their compatriot at the StoneX Stadium are Julia Omokhuale, who signs from fellow PWR club Leicester Tigers, and Laetitia Royer, who will join up with Saracens following her involvement with Canada at the upcoming Rugby World Cup.
34-year-old Royer, a versatile forward capable of featuring in both the second row and back row, has spent the last five years in France with Lons Section Paloise and ASM Romagnat.
Looking ahead to her new challenge, Royer said: “I’ve really enjoyed my time in France, but I’m thrilled to be joining Saracens and embracing a new league and way of life. I'm excited for the new adventure in North London and to play with some new and old friends.”
Her new teammate, Julia Omokhuale, doesn't have to travel quite as far for her new Club assignment, joining up with Saracens after a breakout season for Leicester Tigers where she scored three tries in 12 PWR appearances.
Capable of playing in both the second and back row, Omokhuale has represented Canada in both Sevens and 15s. She made her Sevens debut in Hong Kong earlier this year against Australia, shortly after earning her first senior cap in Canada’s victory over France on the final day of the inaugural WXV competition.
Speaking to Saracens.com Julia made clear how thrilled she was by the upcoming move: "I’m genuinely excited to be joining Saracens, a club with a strong identity and great energy that really resonates with me. At this point in my career, it feels like the right place to challenge myself and keep progressing. I already know a few of the players, and I’m looking forward to learning, growing, and contributing within such a driven and high-performing group."
“Alysha has grown and developed into a well-respected player, who has achieved great success in both formats of the game. Her incredible appetite and desire to work hard create opportunities for her talent to shine.”
Alex Austerberry, Director of Rugby
Rounding out the trio of signings is Alysha Corrigan, who was responsible for a plethora of big PWR moments in 24/25 - scoring, as she did, a key try in the PWR semi-final.
Now preparing for her second Rugby World Cup in the 15s format, Corrigan has become a consistent presence on both the Saracens and Canadian team sheets.
Speaking about her new deal, Corrigan said: “I’m delighted to re-sign for the club; I have loved my time since returning last summer and I can’t wait to continue to grow and develop with this exciting squad. It’s always a pleasure to play at the StoneX, the fans make Sarries truly special, I can’t wait to get back to North London and kick off the season with a bang.”
Director of Rugby Alex Austerberry was thrilled to secure the services of the winger.
“Alysha has grown and developed into a well-respected player, who has achieved great success in both formats of the game. Her incredible appetite and desire to work hard create opportunities for her talent to shine.
It has been great to have Alysha at the club, and I am absolutely delighted that she will continue to wear the shirt that she fills with pride and quality. I have no doubt there will be many more breathtaking moments in the future and that she will continue to be a flag bearer of standards.”
